Lorna has found her real family. She finds her grandmother who tells her how the Doones killed her parents and brought her up hoping to inherit Lorna's vast inheritance when she married Carver Doone. Lorna becomes Lady Lorna and learns about becoming a "Lady" for Society. The instrumental piece entitled 'Watch my footsteps' is an elegant reprise of 'He must have known' and delightfully denotes the change that Lorna has gone through from being a Doone to becoming Lady Lorna.

Meanwhile Carver angrily returns home and with his Clan of Doones, attacks the Ridd farmhouse. The farmhouse is detroyed and Tom Faggus is killed. Annie is emotionally destroyed and her agony is brilliantly performed by Louise Winstone in the song 'How will I live'.

John, unaware of the troubles at home, discovers his beloved Lorna and is stunned by her change to Lady Lorna. Lorna, upon discovering that her letters to John were never delivered on the basis that John Ridd was an unsuitable suitor for Lady Lorna, decides to leave and go with John after all. When they return to the farmhouse and discover the carnage and Tom's death, John is furious. He brings together all the villagers and they form an army to rise up against the Doones. A huge battle ensues and the Doones are finally defeated. However Carver Doone escapes and runs away.

John Ridd is a hero and huge celebrations follow the defeat of the Doones. 'Praise John Ridd' is vocally performed by Llewellyn who also reproduces all the voices of the men celebrating their victory in this last track from the Album.

Finally John can marry his beloved Lorna. In the church John is about to marry Lorna when a gun shot rings out. Carver Doone has shot Lorna. If Carver cannot have Lorna then he believes that no-one else can. John chases after Carver and a huge fight between them takes place. Finally Carver Doone falls into a bog where he feels himself being sucked down into it like quicksand. He reaches out to John to save him. John pauses and is unsure what to do. Suddenly, it's all too late and Carver has been sucked under by the sheer suction power of the bog.

John returns to the farmhouse expecting the worse. But to his surprise, he is greeted by his sister Annie who calls out to John.

"She lives...Lorna lives !"
