track 3:
MARBLE HALLS

play track sample

I have always loved singing since I was a little girl and believe in the healing power of music vibration.

I was unaware of 'new age' or 'healing music' but remember how the voice and music of Enya first touched me. For the first time in my life I discovered how music alone could allow me to escape from the stresses of life and find my own sanctuary.

My favourite Enya song was Marble Halls and featured on her album Shepherd Moons. The song was originally from an Opera called The Bohemian girl and written by Irish composer Michael William Balfe (1808 - 1870). Llewellyn and myself wanted to create a brand new arrangement that sounded fresh and uplifting but still essentially calmed and soothed away the stresses of life.

MARBLE HALLS

I dreamt I dwelt in marble halls
With vessels and serfs at my side
And with all who assembled within those walls
That I was the hope and the pride.
I had riches all too great to count
And a high ancestral name.
But I also dreamt which pleased me most.
That you loved me still the same
That you loved me, you loved me still the same
That you loved me, you loved me still the same.

I dreamt that suitors sought my hand
With knights upon bended knee.
And with vows no maidens heart could withstand
They pledged their faith to me.
And I dreamt that one of that noble host
Came forth my hand to claim.
But I also dreamt that charmed me most
That you loved me still the same
That you loved me, you loved me still the same
That you loved me, you loved me still the same.

That you loved me, you loved me still the same
That you loved me, you loved me still the same.
