Another
nice song is The Return Journey which could comfortably
reside on a Kevin Kendle CD - and I can¹t praise
it more than that! There also Peaceful Sanctuary, which
is a great closing track - lots of shimmering echoed
synth effects, but never too spacy or weird. The music
on Journey to the Angels is, as I¹ve indicated,
rooted firmly in new age music traditions: major chords/notes,
moderate to slow tempos, no overt rhythms except those
driven by the music itself or a series of bassy synth
notes. However, this CD is not just a revisiting of
some older album from Iasos, Mike Rowland, or another
of the old timers. The music and production are state
of the art and the compositions are far from ordinary.
So,
if you have a fondness for music that speaks of light,
hope, peace, and joy, played on some of the best synthesizers
around today (and performed by someone who sure knows
how to use them!), Journey to the Angels will ease
your worried mind. Will you see an Angel? I don¹t
know. But when Juliana sings and Llewellyn plays,
I think you're hearing some!
