This
is a truly atmospheric album of beautiful music. Llewellyn
has a style all his own and these tracks do indeed set
your imagination off into the realms of ancient Celtic
legends, with battles, heroes, faeries, gods and lovers.
The instruments are cleverly fused with special effects
and I
especially liked the descant Recorder on the track "The
Rowan Tree", not an instrument we hear much about
these days which is a great pity. The Recorder is beautifully
played by Tori Donovan who also adds considerably to
some other tracks with the ocarina, violin, treble recorder
and concertina. The rest of the instruments are largely
played by the multi-talented Llewellyn together with
a guest appearance from Medwyn Goodall on acoustic guitar
and vocals from Julianna. All in all, this is well worth
a listen to.
